Wagner described his overture as 'a musical artwork entire in itself': shimmering, mystical, unearthly, it rises to a thrilling climax. Grieg’s exquisite Peer Gynt contains many delights from the wondrous 'Morning Mood' and poignant 'Solveig's Song' to the fearsome 'In the Hall of the Mountain King'.  Dvorak's magnificent Symphony of imaginative melody and drama expresses heart-felt yearning for his homeland in both quiet tenderness and intense passion.
